I love Tuesdays! I get to go to Bible study in the morning- Only one week left in our Beth Moore Living Beyond Yourself - it has been a great study! I also get to go to lunch with my hubby and Logan. To put a cherry on top every Tuesday I get to have a Creative Escape with my stamping and scrappy friends. I look forward to it every week - and I miss it SO much when I do not get to go! All that makes for a BUSY day. So i will probably never get to post on my blog on Tuesdays -unless of course I ever get ahead - ya right!
I wanted to share a project with you today that we did at our area Angel Gathering in February. I have been on a kick lately to use up some of the clear plastic boxes that our stamps come in. You may have seen the Tote tags Tutorial -I just LOVE that project! Those are made with the smallest boxes. Well we have Large boxes too - and I came up with this project for them!
Stamps: Playful Bet, Mini Bet and Fluffy Friends stamp sets from The Angel Company
Ink: Noir Black Palette Ink
Papers: Stardust and Black Cardstock, Uptown Girl Pattern Paper
Accessories: Circle Colluzzle, Stapler, Black and White ribbon
It is a Dry Erase board! :-)
You start by cutting off the LID of the box. And just like the tote tags - you create a page that fits on the back of the lid. I used Stardust Cardstock for the base - and cut it down to 6 3/16 x 9. I cut my phot with the circle colluzzle and then cut a ring of black cardstock to layer over it. I wrapped a few ribbons around the ring and stapled ribbons on to it.
Have you checked out our packs of ribbons? They go with more than just their designated paper line! 1 yard of each ribbon - 5 different coordinating ribbons for just $4.95. It is a great option if you just need a little - and not a whole 15-25 yard roll! I layered a piece of Uptown pattern paper and then added my photo on top. The words I thought were a clever use of the Playful bet 0 because I used both upper and lower case in the word Message so I would have enough letters! I like that look with that particlar alpha - although it would not work with every alphabet. This one is well - just playful enough to pull it off!
When you have your "page" completed, you attach it with a bead of glue along the lip of the box and then attach a magnet to the back. They work great - wipe clean with a paper towel. You could make up these as gifts for friends and family - they are fun!
I got the pens from The MarkerBoard People - they have the clear clips too! They have adhesive on the back so you just peel and stick!
One of the girls at the Gathering -Debi Urbanek - took this project to the ultimate - and used the plastic that her SCOR-PAL came in to make a huge message center! It was so neat - I wish I had a picture of it! If I find one i will post it too.
My good friend Julie also came up with a project for the box bottoms too! Check it out!
I have been cutting them up and putting them thru my Big Shot with some shape dies - and have been having fun with that. What will you do with your boxes?? Cut them suckers up I say!
I will be wrapping up techniques today for TAC-nique Thursday class this week. Oh ya and I still have to finish that BOX! going to be a FUN day!
I just wanted to say congratulations on your Scor-pal tutorial! Just saw it in their April/May issue. You go girl! Awesome work!

Heather, I love this board! How did you attach the pen?
**I used the pen clips that you can order with the pens from the markerboard people.
