Monday Sketch-a-roni

Today's sketch is inspired by my swap card from this past weekend. I made one to trade with each of the angels who joined me for our Oz-some Weekend! If you have a chance to play with the sketch be sure to add your linky and link back to here so we can all see the different ideas shared.

I cannot say enough about this past weekend - it was the best to date I think!   We go out to Living Water Ranch in Olsburg Kansas.  let me tell you the road to this place is scary in spots - but once you get there it is SO worth it!  It is a Christian retreat center and the couple who own and run it are just wonderful!  We had our normal building for the weekend - which includes a dorm for 50 and 4 private rooms.  We also had a few stay in other cabins too. 

We had a card swap, we each brought a "shoebox project" for everyone to make, product challenges, image challenges, contest for cards, scrapbook page and a 3D item, LOADS of prizes and LOADS of creativity shared. 

 One of the funniest things from the weekend were our picket signs.  We have a tradition on our team at meetings and gatherings etc to call people out when they are talking bad about themselves or diminishing their talents.  We call that inner voice "Towanda".   You know when some one compliments you and you down play it instead of standing proud and accepting the compliment.   So we had picket signs for when we heard someone being Towanda - we would all grab a sign and wave it and chant 'Down with Towanda".  It was Hilarious!  We had other signs with other things on them too like "How cute is that!"  and "True THAT Sista!"

Little sleep was had - Lots of laughs.  All in all a FANTASTICAL weekend! 

The kids are off to school today  - ah the silence!!!    I have LOTS of prep to do this week for my upcoming crop in Park City(near Wichita) this weekend - Crop-a-Ganza!  I am planning a few classes - to include a Savvy keychain, Double Flip Album and hopefully a Scrap-Tastic layout and cards class!  Lots to do and pack and oh goodness - I gotta get to work!

Today is my first and last free weekend day for awhile to come!  I am planning on getting some more stamping time in - since my hubs is mowing and the kids are off playing.  I have some things I have been putting off getting wrapped up - and I NEED to get the checked off my list!   Speaking of lists - only 3 days left with the kids at home!

I am in the midst of prep for an OZ-some weekend next weekend!  I am hostessing a weekend team retreat for my team of Oz-some Angels - and it is going to be FUN!!!  Everyone is bringing a project to share and we will have a gift exchange and a card swap too.  Contests, business building activities and ideas - and did I mention FUN???  I wish ALL my team could make it to this event every year!

All this team talk makes me want to be sure that  you are ALL invited to join my team!  I have a dynamic group of stampers and scrappers who support each other in business and inspiration with such LOVE!  I am so blessed to have such a great team!

Monday sketch - play with me!

Another Monday another sketch!  The sketch for this week is one of my old standby's - I fall back to it again and again and it is easy to add little flairs here and there to change it up.  Give it a try and leave a linky here and link back to here on yours if you do so everyone can check out all the creations and be inspired!

I am actually hoping (well I really HAVE to get to it) to get to PLAY with all my new stuff this week!!!  Vacation and seminar and everything else crazy that has been going on has kept me out of the studio.  Today it is cloudy and I hear thunder so maybe I can get some good time in.

This Saturday is a Creative Escape in Combo with  Christmas in July Workshop.  The Creative escape/crop will run from 10AM to 10PM - and yes I may be able to be convinced to stay later Seleise!   We will see how the Mojo is flowin'!  This is how it will work:

Come and crop and create from 10Am to 10PM - FREE of charge, bring your own supplies and a snack to share.

Wow - sorry for the delay in my posting this weeks sketch!  I had it done on Saturday - Thanks Sharon for the inspiration!  I however have not been home for long enought to write up the post!

Fun day today and tomorrow for me - I am working on my Card kit for May!  Be watching tomorrow night for a sneak peek.  Stamping Night out is Thursday, Logan's Field trip is friday along with the Wamego Friday crop night, and Saturday is the Spring Boutique in Clay Center KS and our School Carnival is Saturday night!!!  WOWZERS - I am tired just thinking about the next few days!  Good thing Sunday is Mother's Day - I might have to take a nap!

I had fun coloring that little guy!  adding the stickles to the "rocks" and then Crystal Lacquer over top of the whole image really makes it POP!  Here is a closer look:

I am not doing a great job photgraphically to catch the detail!  Take my word for it - it look cool!

So this Saturday is National Scrapbook day!  I am of course having an all day event - 14 HOURS of non stop crop time!  Whoo Hoo!  I am having prizes, games a FREE Make and Take and a RAFFLE!  If you have participated in my raffles - you know how OZ-some they are!  You will be receiving tickets all day - and I will raffle off the goods at 10PM.  How do you get tickets you ask?   Let me tell you!  IF you want to play in the raffle:

- You must purchase your first ticket for $10 - BUT that will only get you started!
- if you come to the event - you get one ticket (YES you can play along even if you cannot attend!
- Bring a yummy snack - get 3 tickets
- Get 1 ticket for every project that you use a TAC stamp on that day
- get 1 ticket for ooohing and awing over the make and take
- 5 tickets for every GAME you win
- 1 for playing in any of the games
- 1 for bringing your most atrosious layout or card

Monday sketch, New specials and the rest of the story!

SO I am hopefully feeling better now - my back is better - not 100% but better.  I also got a killer cold last week- head and throat yuckiness.  My theory is I caught at the pumpkin patch because the other chaperon's I rode with had it too this week as well as one of the teachers.  I have pretty much been doing NOTHING!!  Although I did get dug out of a huge mess in my studio - so I can create now - right?  Lets hope so!

SO I am preparing for CROP CAMP!!!  I leave friday early to head south - way south for me!  For a Fun filled 3 day scrapbooking retreat weekend!  with like over 100 of my new bestest friends!  :-)  I am VERY excited and SO looking forward to seeing my friends I met at Cropaganza!  I am teaching some classes, doing a make and take, and hopefully getting some of my own cropping done!  Ya you heard it here first - Heather will be scrapbooking this weekend!  It will require much prep this week though if I am really going to make it happen - so cross your fingers for me girls!

I also have Stamping Night out on Thursday - 2 make and takes and a demo - FREE for my Sensational Six Club members - $3 of you are not in the club.  Did you know you did not have to be local to get in on that fun?  Well you don't - you can e-mail me if you want more info.

Well I know not everyone is dying to hear the rest of the caterpillar adventures - but if you do then keep reading!

My friend the black fuzzy Caterpillar - is still hanging in there and not wrapped up in a cocoon yet.  You probably guessed by now where he turned up.  In a shoe of course!  The funny thing is that Laney put her shoe ON!  Then put the other one on and was wiggling her foot - so i told her to stand up and walk a few steps. 
And she said "No! There is something in there!"
She slipped off her shoe, and reached in - and yanked her hand back out saying "Ouch!". 
I said "What's wrong Laney?"
"IT'S THE CATERPILLAR!!!" she yelled with much excitement.
I was like "Nah - its not the caterpillar"
"Yes it is it POKED me!"  SO she started shaking her shoe - and my word - out popped that big black furry Caterpillar.
And yes I have been giving him fresh leaves and water sprinkles every few days.  HA!  How in the heck he did not get squished by Laneys foot - and WHY he would crawl into the stinkiest shoe in the house I have no idea!  That girl has stinkier feet than her momma, poor thing! 

Since I wrote this - I have had even more adventures with our furry little friend.  I woke up on the couch one night - and he was trucking down the hall!  I put the bug box in front of him and he stopped in his tracks, then crawled in after a few seconds.  Then the next morning Laney found him AGAIN - in the same shoe as before!  Crazy I know!  I was also sitting reading my bible study book after that - quiet morning after the kids left for school and I kept hearing this noise - what the heck is that noise???  It was Mr Caterpillar eating a nice crunchy leaf!  I KNOW!

Well today has been a whole day of puter work - oh and beauty!  I got my hair cut - no big major change, but i did get some bangs.  I will try to get a new picture posted soon - If I can get one I like!  Today i have funky hair cuz they never can fix my hair the way i like it in the salon - does that happen to enyone else?  I mean THEY should be the ones who can do anything!  I always walk out with flat non styled hair.

I am so excited that I already have over 30 Christmas cards done already from our last Card Buffet!  I have planned a Christmas Card Buffet every month thru December - so you can be done early too!  This is one of the designs we will be making on Monday - I hope you can join us!

Today I have some last minute running around to do - only one more full day at home til the kids are in school.  I told Logan yesterday I  changed my mind  about him going to school - and he said "Me too!"   Awe!  What a sweetie that boy is - I am REALLY going to miss him.  I hope I have not given him a complex about going to school though - I think he really thinks I am going to be lost without him.  :-)

I think tomorrow I will try to take the kids swimming one last time before school starts - lets hope we have a nice HOT day!

So when I got the mail this afternoon I was so VERY excited to receive a copy of the latest Take Ten Issue of the Stampers Sampler!  That means - I got published!  They send you a free copy when you get published in their mags - and this one is a $14.00 book!  SAWEEEET!  I started looking thru (I always start at the back) and this is the first of my creations that I could find...

I found 2 others cards also - and a few from my friends Yuki, Annette and Becky too!

Where in the world did Monday go anyway?  I was unpacking and catching up on e-mail and before I knew it I had to make dinner and tuck in the kids!  Coming home after almost 2 week gone is tough!  My W and S keys are not working very well - I apologize if I miss any typos!

So for the card sketch I altered it jut a bit to fit my greeting.
