I just love Kraft cardstock!   I can say  that it truely is my ultimate favorite cardstock.  Boring, right?   Well for this card I was trying to give the hedgehogs a furry look - so I left the fur unblended.    After looking at these pics I think I will go in and add some more "hairs" to their bellies - I don't like em the way they are.  Easy fix though - especially with Copic's!

There is about 5 inches of snow - and I for sure am NOT going anywhere today!  I am in my studio with the heater cranked and hoping to get some project samples wrapped up.  I have a crop scheduled for tomorrow - and am hoping the weather will not keep us from a fun filled day of creating.

Card for sketch 130

Loving this sketch and being back in the studio with my HEAT on!  :-)

I am winding down on my Christmas card making - I actually have all I need made already! I know I am just as shocked as you!   I paired up our Scarlet cardstock with a little Kraft, Ivory and Dark Brown,  adding a splash of gold with Brilliance Ink and gold cord.  The piercing along the edge and below the greeting is my way of adding texture and depth.  What do you think???

 

 I used the script background from Vintage Santa and the new Poinsettia from the fall supplement.  I just LOVE that new poinsettia - especially super simple with VersaMark ink!

My mini studio clean up has really rejuvenated my mojo - especially since I can crank the heat and make it nice and toasty!   I am hoping to get some cool holiday projects done - especially after this weekend and my LAST craft show of the season! 

It is the first of the month - which means all new specials from The Angel Company!

Monday card sketch #125

I know I know I have not even done my card for last week - but it is monday people and I have a new sketch for you!  SO give it a try, join the blog hop and leave your linky and add the blurb to your blog too - it is supe simple with the McLinky!  So here is this weeks sketch:

I had the MOST fantabulous last three days!  I was excited to be able to attend the Copic Coloring class that TAC was offering in Salina on friday.  I had NO idea how awesome it was going to be!  I am SO excited for what I have instore for our next Copic Coloring Happy Hour!  (Thursday Sept 30th!)

From the class I headed out to Living Water Ranch for my Oz-some Weekend - and it was!  I am SO blessed to have such PHENOMENAL women on my team!   We had each brought a project to share with everyone and they were all amazing.  What creativity they all posess.  And food - OMG!  reports are the average weight gain from the weekend is a minimum of 3 pounds.  LOL!   We had a card swap and I was SO jealous to not be able to participate in the Gift exchange.    We did manage to take a dip in the pool - but it was a quick one because we all wanted to get back to coloring!  I did the projects and then mostly played with my Copic materials from class.  I think I got my African American skin combo finally too!  I still have LOTS of work to do to get facial coloring though as I seem to be overworking it and I lose my lights.  I guess I will have LOTS more fun practicing!

This week I have stamping night out on Thursday - and I have no idea what I am doing yet!  :-)  Just kidding I actually have some things in my bag of tricks I have been saving for fall.  I hope to get both card sketches done this week too - so check back to see what I came up with and be sure to share your ideas too!

Stamp of the Month Clear Card

I just LOVE this card as it combines a few of my favorite things! Acetate and transparency cards, The Happily Grateful July Stamp of the month (which is on sale thru the end of the month for almost $5 off!) and the new Emma line of double sided papers and accessories!   I was inspired by Angela K at Artistic Detours - check out her card.  She has some great stuff on her blog - so stay and look around while  you are there!

I made a card with a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 sheet of transparency by folding it in half.  Then I stamped the ivy/foliage onto the transparency with my white Stazon ink.  LOVE that!  The I layerd my circle with pop dots to the outside of the card - and my nestabilities cut pattern paper to the INSIDE of the card with double sided tape.  By doing it that way you totally conceal all the adhesive in a pretty little sandwich!  The I adhered a layer of Quartz CS onto the inside back of the card and tied my ribbon around.

So I have triple TAC-nique class tonight - I am all ready to rock and roll with some fun new TAC-niques! 

Monday Sketch #116 - Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday! :-) Since the holiday was yesterday I did not even open the door to my studio. So I will share this weeks sketch today instead! If you get a chance to play with the sketch leave your linky and link back to here so we can all check you out!

Kiddos are home and got a section of their rooms cleaned up this morning.  That is the attack plan this week - divide it into 5 sections - one for each day - and by the end of the week they will be done!  Right?  Please tell me this will work....

Hope you are all off to a great start on summer!  I have some stamping to do for seminar our annual TAC convention - so I will be having fun keeping cool and creating over the next few weeks.  Hopefully I can share some of what I am working on soon!

Monday Card Sketch #113

Time for another sketch to inspire you in your cardmaking - atleast I hope they do!  If you give todays sketch a try be sure to leave a linky so we can all see...Link back here too!

For this sketch I am seeing LUSCIOUS layers!  Yummy goodness, right?  Have fun with the oval too - it can be any shape not just an oval!

So I already got some major progress on out VBS painting today - after almost 2 hours of messing with the dumb projector!  UGH - that is why I usually just freehand the backdrops.  Seriously!  We are doing groups High Sea's Adventure - so the Massive ship with all it's persepctive requirements is what forced me to want to use the projector in the first place.  We all decided that our church just needs to buy a new one!  :-)

This week I have Stamping Night Out on Thursday - which means an all new Demo and 2 make and takes - I have some yumminess planned but have to work it all out on paper!  That is the fun part!

We have started all new specials for the month of May!

I just love that llittle kitty!  I colored simply with my colored pencils - and then went over them with my Dove Blender.  I embossed the white panel and then sponged over top with Seascape ink to make the dots pop!

Also the card that inspired my sketch was from Jennifer McGuire - I just LOVE her style and often check out her blog for inspiration!  You will find the card in this post.

It was a crazy busy weekend - the kids had a Sock Hop at school on Friday, I had a craft show all day Saturday and then Trick or Treating of course!   I just played with my pics a bit and made a few Collages in Picassa  - I SO want to scrap them NOW!  But I can't because I have a HUGE To do list!

Monday Sketch 93 - Play along for Blog Candy!

get creative with that shape - I know I am gonna!  It could be an oval, a tag, or even a flower.  I plan to use ribbon for the 1/2" piece - the wheels are a turning!

This is the last week in October - so be sure if you wanted any of these specials to get them while  you can!  I actually just realized that I had posted in previous posts the NOV specials instead of October!  Why didn't some one poke me?!?!? 

I had a nice relaxing weekend - and experienced a FIRST that could have been much worse!  You know running out of gas is pretty funny - but only if you have ONSTAR and can press a button and have some one bring you gas.  Had I needed to actually WALK along interstate 70 to gas station it probably would not have been so funny...however it was a nice day for a walk!  :-)  Let me just say - I will not be seeing how far I can really get after the little gas pump lights up anymore!  Seriously - do not trust the RANGE meter to be precise ladies especially when on the interstate! 

I am having that feeling of relief today - feeling like I do not h ave anything to scramble to get ready for.  Do you think I will get ahead this week?  HA!  I can dream right?  Actually I plan to do some serious cleaning today in my studio.  I have the highest most ridiculous pile of filing to do.  And I have some re-arranged things that are still displaced so that I cannot get some drawers open!  Anyone relate?  Wednesday hopefully I can do some serious creating in my studio!  I have some events coming up fast in November - and I really should be nailing down some designs and ideas.  They are all still floating around in my brain.
