I got a little carried away with the Stickles - but it was fun!  I traced around the whole piece with the bear on it and I also dotted randomly around in the snow.  The bear also got stickle accents on her necklace, flower and trim of her dress.

I colored my image with the Watercolor pencils and blender pen - Julie has a great video how to with them check it out!

I am sorry I did not get this card up yesterday or Tuesday like usual.  My mojo was just not flowing and I was playing hide and seek with it all day!    So today?  I think I will spend most of the day cleaning - because I have been avoiding doing that  too!  :-) 

I have been spending most of my time playing in my buttons making jewelry and gearing up for the next 8 weekends!  I may even add a few more rings to myetsy shop and if I do I also want to add a little sidebar widget on my blog too.  You can always put in special requests for colors or size though- I will send you a picture with a few different choices for  you to pick from if you do!

Monday Sketch #87

I cannot tell  you how HAPPY I am to be home this morning!  First things first - I was able to get caught up on my bible study - getting back on track always feels SO good!  We started Beth Moore's Stepping Up: Psalms of the Ascent last Tuesday - man is it off to a GREAT start!  After week 1 I am feeling like this is going to be another good one!   God is GOOD - and he is with us every step of the way.   I can say I highly reccomend any and all of Beth Moore's books - be ready for homework though! (which is my FAV part!)

Now if I could only get up just a little earlier to take that walk I want to be taking every morning!  Last week was chaos so I have a TON of housework to do.   TACnique Night is this Thursday and I have some good ones up my sleeve!   

Also later in the month - the 26th is my Creative Escape and Christmas Camp!   4 designs with envelopes and idea sheets for $10.  Additional sets are $7.  I will send out an e-vite at the end of the week (so no one gets confused on the dates) So be sure to RSVP to it when you get it!

The two stamps I used are two of the Purchase with purchase stamps - they are just $2.95 with a $30 purchase!  I edged all the pattern pieces with a sponge and the burnt umber ink.  The Scor-pal and Scor-bug made a  decorative element to the pieces to make the design nice and balanced.

I am taking the kiddos and a few friends swimming this afternoon - so hopefully the sun peaks out for a little while atleast!  It is the LAST day before school starts!!!!  Can you feel my anticipation and giddiness???  :-)  I know I am a terrible mom - but i really do enjoy them MORE when they are in school all day!

Today is my first and last free weekend day for awhile to come!  I am planning on getting some more stamping time in - since my hubs is mowing and the kids are off playing.  I have some things I have been putting off getting wrapped up - and I NEED to get the checked off my list!   Speaking of lists - only 3 days left with the kids at home!

I am in the midst of prep for an OZ-some weekend next weekend!  I am hostessing a weekend team retreat for my team of Oz-some Angels - and it is going to be FUN!!!  Everyone is bringing a project to share and we will have a gift exchange and a card swap too.  Contests, business building activities and ideas - and did I mention FUN???  I wish ALL my team could make it to this event every year!

Stunning Sillouhette effect - my card for this weeks sketch

I cheated just a smidge on the sketch - when I was ready to add my sentiment thesize piece was too big so I turned it on it's side and ran it off the left edge and trimmed.  This is my FAV car I have made in a LONG time!!!  I was inspired by a card a freiend of mine (thanks Sharon!) showed me tuesday night - that she had made at a class she went to.  (Thanks Marsha for the inspiration!)  It was an asian card and all I remember was the red cardstocked stamped like a sillohette and then edged softly but dark.  LOVE that look!  So what do you think?  Leave a linky and link back here if you play with the sketch!

I love this stamp set - and I must have been confused when I got rid of mine a few catalogs ago and thought it was retiring!  I traded with Julie for it though so I am glad to have it again!  Thanks Julie!

I have SO much to do today - including packing for a trip to HOME!  I am excited to get to go to my family reunion - especially since I do  not think I have made it in the last 10 years!  Sheesh!  It may have been more recent than 10 years but I know it was before Laney and Logan so it was atleast 9!  That is ridiculous!  I decided in the spring that I am going to just go home when I want instead of waiting for when my DH can go.  it stinks that he can't go - but I NEED to go!   My mom is having a button party for me too while I am home - so that will be LOADS of fun!

So I probably will not have many posts between now and next week friday - although I should have a sketch!  In fact just because I am going to be gone - when I get back friday I will award BLOG CANDY to one lucky player from those who post their linky to next weeks sketch!    So be sure to check on Monday and play a little!

Monday Sketch 75 - time to catch up!

Yesterday was just way too nice to be in the studio all day - I actually spent most of it on my bike with my kiddos!   It was a beautiful day and I seized the moment with them.  I remember how much I LOVED riding my bike when I was their age and I hope that we can ride together!

But today it is BACK to work!  Monday means time for a card sketch around here - so here is the sketch for this week.

I am planning on using some of the Spring into June sets for this card sketch and last weeks too!  They are ready to be sut out and just waiting to be inked!!! 

Don't tell anyone but I had last weeks card for the sketch done but I didn't like it!  So I did not post it!   I know it is probably ok - but  sometimes Tawanda is hanging out in my studio and she makes me do stupid stuff.  DO you have a Tawanda in your studio?  You probably don't even realize you do!  She is the little voice inside of YOU that makes you think you do not measure up, or your creations are not worthy.  My OZ-some Inkin' Angels Team like to tell her to shut up when we hear her at our team meetings - and I hope they continue to do that when they are at home alone too!  I think she is the loudest when we are alone.

So hopefully I have her muzzle on so I can do some creating today!  I might have to squeeze in another bike ride too though!

I love a good punch trick don't you?  This time I am using the Giga Merchandise Tag Punch from Marvy.  You can of course use any tag punch that is similar in shape.  I am making this cool label shape from this card.

I used the new Spring Into April stamp set Forever Friends.  Check out the coloring on this card - I love how it turned out!

I used my trusty Prisma Color pencils.  No blender or anything - just my bare naked pencils on good quality paper.  You can really get nice blends with JUST the pencils - but it is imperative that you are working on GOOD paper like our UltraSmooth White Cardstock or Stardust Cardstock!!  For the pot - I colored so much that i felt like I could not see the black lines anymore because the pink was all over the top.  I tried to remedy it by going over them with my Black Gelly Roll Glaze pen - which does the trick IF you can do them nice and steady.  I however did not do such a great job.  So now what?  Stickles makes eveything better right?  (Hi Julie!)  I just stickled over top of the glaze pen and it took away all the Boo Boos. 

So - on to the tag trick!

First start with a strip of cardstock that is 1 3/4 inches wide - this is for the Giga Merchandise Tag punch.  If you are using a different size tag be sure your width is almost as wide as the regular tag when punched out.  We are going to insert this strip into the punch from the bottom of the punch so that only ONE end of it will be punched.  You do not stick it in like normal.  It should look like this:

Then you punch and end up with this:

Next take that strip and flip it - right over left - so now your punched end is on your right.  Slip it back into the punch the same way you did the first time like this:

Now punch and you end up like this:

Now you just cut off both sides of the tag.  I made it even easier to see where to cut by using my Scor-pal to make a cutting guide.  I lined up my tag with any score line on the Scor-pal so that both the same bumps of the tag were in line with the same line.  Like this:

Then score along that line and repeat for the other side of the tag.  So you have 2 scored lines to cut along like this:

Then Snip snip and you have this:

Add brads to the ends or punch holes or layer another piece on top and voila - a very nice Label shape using your Merchandise Tag Punch.

Monday Sketch 58

What a trip! I am back from sunny San Antonio (that was not so sunny on Saturday and
Sunday!). This weeks sketch is another from the Birthday Card Bonanza that I held last week. This is actually the card that took me the longest to finish. SO here is the sketch and lets see what YOU can do with it!

So the weekend in San Antonio was OZ-some as usual! I was so happy to get to spend a little time with my friends who I only get to see at these TAC events and also with my team members who could make it. The road trip was a blast - Barbara and Debi are probably on Heather and Lori overload! The whole time I was gone I was thinking of my bestest far away friend Annette who could not come down this year. I swear everytime we were laughing or complaining we were all thinking in the back of all our heads "Man I wish Annette was here!!!" We really did miss ANNETTE!!! I do not think we will ever let THAT happen again! Well I have to run Logan in for a Dr Appt. and then run him back to school - so I will be off and running back in the land of oz today. Fun Fun!

Party Time!

I am so excited that I will be heading to San Antonio in 2 weeks for TAC's annual Winter Retreat event.  It is a 3 day event that I look forward to every winter to get a boost in inspiration from my fellow angels - and the best part is it is in San Antonio!  In celebration I designed my sketch card to celebrate going.

I featured the Miss Moxie Collection on this card - I just love its Lush color Palette.  I used the Orange Stickles to mark the selection from the list and I also went over the Party Time with them.  I have a trick I use when applying stickles on top of the Party Time image and it works like a charm.  OZ-some TIP: Did you know that if you go outside the lines with stickles there is a highly technical tool that you can use to clean up your mistake? It is called a nudger. You probably have half a million of them laying around your stamping table and you didn't even know it!  Any scrap of paper will do!  Just nudge your stickles right back where they are supposed to be and voila!

Well today has been a whole day of puter work - oh and beauty!  I got my hair cut - no big major change, but i did get some bangs.  I will try to get a new picture posted soon - If I can get one I like!  Today i have funky hair cuz they never can fix my hair the way i like it in the salon - does that happen to enyone else?  I mean THEY should be the ones who can do anything!  I always walk out with flat non styled hair.
