First you will need:
6x6 Sheet of cardstock - I am using white
18" ribbon - I love the satins for this project - Pink for me!
Scrap of white cardstock for tag
Scrappers floss - to attach tag - I used white
Paper Piercer - for scrappers floss trick
Retractable Craft Knife - Love this tool!
Stamps and inks - I used Love Doodles and Toile Pink Palette Ink from The Angel Company
To start you will take your 6x6 piece and lay it on top of your scorpal in the top left corner.
You will score at 2" and 4" - be carefull with that 2" one as 2 1/8 is also right there - the 2" mark is the one on the left - wink wink!
Turn piece 90 degrees lining back up in the top left corner and score at 2 and 4 again.
Mark the 4 intersections of scored lines with a pencil - this will make the next step easier to see.
We are using the circle colluzzle template knife and mat - running the blade thru the biggest circle track. You are going to line up that trach in the MIDDLE scored section of one side of your box. You want the top of the circle to end close to the score line on the left side and the side of the circle to line up with the right scored line right where your pencil mark is. Your cut should END right at that point!
Insert your knife in that track and cut 1/4 circle ending at your pencil mark.
Important!!! turn your piece 90 degrees to the left (counterclockwise) and repeat the circle cut - lining up again before cutting. Turn piece another 90 degrees counterclockwise again and repeat, and again and repeat
Your piece should now look like this:
Next you cut off the 4 corners - by cutting along the score line you did not cut to a circle.
Yeah! I hope it does!
Now you are going to cut a slit along 2 parallel sides to run your ribbon thru.
Turn piece over and stamp the "petals" of your box. Be sure you stamp the images with their top aligned with the point of each petal so that they will be right side up once your box is folded up.
Run ribbon thru holes so that it is INSIDE the bottom of the box and goes OUTSIDE along the sides.
Before you fold up the box place your treat on the bottom middle section.
Now to fold up the box you are going to pull in one flap at a time, pulling the next flap up that is on the rounded side of your petal. If you did it exactly like mine you will go around your box counterclockwise.
When you get to the last petal you will pull it up and tuck it in - and voila!
Tying the ribbon can be a little tricky - i found that if i tied a knot first then tied my bow it was much more manageable.
To embellish a little more I stamped a tage with another stamp from the Love Doodles set with Toille Pink Palette Ink and cut it out. Then I used my Paper Pierce to poke a hole in the tag. I tied the tag onto the ribbon with Scrappers floss.
The trick for the swirls is to start at the base of the floss and wrap it around the paper piercer needle and push it all down together and then pull out the piercer.
BOING! instant swirlies! Love em!
I hope you give this one a try - it is pretty easy once you do one like most things! They are adorable for kisses and little candies like that!
