Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!    I will be celebrating tonight with family - and am looking forward to a fabulous 2012!   I wanted to share a card that I made for a|s Convention coming up in January - they had a call for designs and I was able to submit some. 

For this card I started by sponging my "light" with Wasabi ink and a sponge dauber.  Once I had it how I wanted I stamping the Chandelier on top with Onyx ink.  Then I embellished the stamping with clear twinkle stickers - the teardrop shapes.   I layered that to Wasabi cardstock.  On the front of my Slate card I stamped the stripes with Onyx ink along the left edge and right edge.  Then I layered my chandelier piece on top with pop dots.  Easy and elegant!

I love the color combo of Slate, Onyx and Wasabi!  I also LOVE the stripe stamp in Onyx along the edges of the colored card.   The clear twinkle stickers are a definete MUST have for embellishing your cards, scrapbook pages and projects!  If you need any of these products you can always shop on my secure site anytime!  http://www.amusestudio.com/heather

One of my Christmas cards...

This is one of the designs I went with this year - I decided to split into two so I made 50 of these and 50 of another design. 

I used the metallic Washi tape - LOVE!!!  I just put 2 strips a little wider than my top layer - and voila!  I masked off the moon and ground with post it notes and sponged on top with Winter Sky ink.  Then I stamped the snowflakes with Winter Sky too.  Then I stamped my deer with Navy and distressed the edges before adding it to the card with pop dots.

Three little Blings - clear twinkle stickers accent my sentiment strip.  (i actually left this off my finished design because I ran out!) 

SO hopefully I can get some of these suckers in todays mail - but first I want to try to get a picture printed!  I got a lot to do - so it might not happen til tomorrow!

I went crazy with embossing on this card - I love the subtle effect of clear embossing for a background - I used the Music background for this one.  I could not get my white polka dots to pop like I wanted - so white embossing for them and they are perfect! 

I played a little with my copics too - I love to color but when mass producing for Christmas cards I have to choose my images wisely or I will NEVER finish them!  This stamp set - Holiday tags

has 10 different images to choose from - that are all easy to color!  Definetly on my Christmas cards this year!

I had a major internet outage this week - which brought me to a screeching halt in my studio!  I had planned my work out for wednesday and then couldn't do any of it!  Posting this card was one of those items!  I am all back up and running - and hopefully back on track!

I have almost finished all my commitments before the holidays - and am looking forward to friday being able to focus on my family and our holiday celebrations.  We have alot to celebrate this year for sure!   I want to get some photo editing done and get our Alaska pictures printed into either books or just to frame.  We have SO many cool pictures and I honestly have not even looked at them yet! 

I also have to get started on my Christmas cards!  LOL!  I have a crop scheduled for this saturday - so I hope to get them done and ready to go that day.  Which means that I need to get a design nailed down this week!  Hope you have a blessed week and that you get a chance to play with your ink and stamps! 

Washi Tape Christmas

Here is a cute card I made with it for last months class...

I cut the tree out with my Tree die - LOVE all the christmas dies in the holiday supplement!  I used Fern cardstock and I embossed the music background with silver on top.  On the front of a Sugar card I just slapped down three strips of Washi Tape and then layered my tree on top with pop dots.  Then I added my sentiment and blinged it up a bit with some red twinkle stars. 

The green in the holiday Washi Tape matches the Wasabi paper ink and ribbon excellently!

Super simple card - I think it might be one of my designs this year - although I have not started yet so I might still find something elese!  Embossing and cutting a ton of trees might be a pain after like 10.  LOL!

Well Laney has her first Bball tourney for the year tomorrow - so bleacher butt is in my near future!  I can't wait to see her play again - she just LOVES basketball.  Hopefully we can enjoy the rest of the day with some family time!  Maybe even get some Christmas decorationg or cookie making done or started anyway!  Hope you have a blessed weekend!!!

I can't decide if I like yesterdays better or today's - what do you think?  For this one I just stamped collage style - the tree with Fern ink, the music Bac kground with French Roast, and the greeting with Cherry.  Then I inked the edge with a sponge dauber.  I stamped the strip on the Fern piece with French Roast also.  I took a strip of French Rpast cardstock and embossed it with the snowflake impression plate then sanded it slightly to bring out the embossing.  After I stuck all those together I tied a piece of Cherry Bakers twine around and layered it to a Cherry Card.

I have Stamping Night Out Tonight so I am in my studio tweaking my projects that I had ready last week!  I had to postpone the class because of early departure for Vegas - so I have had time to second guess and think more on the projects and wonder if they are good enough.  Why do we all do that??  You may not do it for a class - but I think we all wonder and stress on wether the things we create are good enough.  It is some kind of negative inner voice that we all need to quiet! 

Well I am off to get my raffle prizes ready now!  More inspiration for you tomorrow I hope!

So of course I am glad to get back to my COPIC's!  LOVE how this image turned out.

I stamped the Music Background onto a strip of Fern Cardstock with French Roast ink - then edged it slightly with direct to paper technique.  I cut a strip of Candy Cane background paper - and layered it onto the strip as well.  Then I tied a piece of Cherry Ribbon into a knot and wrapped it around the strip.  Then I tucked my colored image under the ribbon and stuck it down too.  Next the strip was layered onto the card and the greeting was stamped with French Roast below it.

Did ya think you lost me again? I actually had a trip to Vegas get bumped up several days - which totally changed my todo list priorities! So I am home again and ready to seriously get back on track...seriously!!!  We had SO much fun in Vegas - along with one of my BFF's Julie and her hubby.  I think I walked about 100 miles atleast.  We ate like kings and had the best time wandering around see all there is to see.

 I am back in my studio - got my old computer ripped out of its spot and my new laptop in place.  Heck I even hooked up the printer today!  Yeah me!  I have a TON on my to do list for today - and I am still in jammies!  SO I better get the whip cracking!  I have another card for this sketch that I will share tomorrow!
