my take 2 for sketch #79

So I spent the whole day playing yesterday - outside with my kiddos and neices and nephew!  It was so nice I could not bring myself to come home and get to work.  But I got my card for this weeks sketch done this morning - Then my internet went down!  WOW talk about troubles huh?  Well my card is featuring a NEW and exclusive stamp set for June and July that TAC Premiered today!   You Make My heart Sing!

So I am loving the color combo from The Maggie Collection - they are muted and so yummy!   I custom colred the floss with one of the copic markers that I used to color the image with - LOVE that versatility!

 
When I colored the girls dress I wanted to give it a little pattern - so I colored it in first with RV95 then I let that dry.  The I went back in with the colorless blender and added the polka dots!  I love the extra punch that gives the image.

When I finished the card and put it together I thought it was a little top heavy on the sky - so I pulled it apart and added the pierced line across the top and bottom.  I think it did the trick to balance it a little more - what do you think?

Another Card a Day in the Month of May

Cute, right?  I wanted to add something to the pink layer - or to add another layer behind the pattern paper - but I didn't!  I resisted the urge to keep tweaking and called it done - anyone relate? 

I started with the most luscious pink cardstock - from the Mia's Cottage cardstock Package.  The pattern paper is a fun one from Kaleidoscope Girlz 8x8 Wing it Collection pad of papers - such FUN colors!  The accent is a pink flower gem from the pink gem collection.

I of course colored my girl from Rolling By with Copic's - they seem to be the only coloring medium I can reach at the moment!  I think I have become spoiled!

As I am writing this up I realized I never colored her hair!  Did you notice that before I told you - just for fun leave me a comment I am curious!  I always tell my stamping friends that THEY are their worst critic and we really are aren't we!  When some one makes a little mistake I always say "No one will notice that but you!" and this will be a testament to it for sure!

When I was coloring her shorts the RV02 and 04 were really brite for the pink of my card - so to tone them down a smidge I just went over them with the RV34.  It took the bite off the pink and really did a good job making it match up.  When you are using your copic's don't be afraid to try things like that to get the exact color you are looking for!  You do have to remember the color numbers and how they work though - so try on a scrap piece first!

 
I sanded the edges of the pattern paper just a teensy weensy bit - just to set it apart from the pink card.  Just a little designer touch that really make a card pop.

my card for this weeks sketch

I used the Emma collection of papers cardstock and ribbon.  Love that soft color pallette!  I used my copic's to color the flower from Blossoms and Blessings that I cut out with my nestabilities labels #1.

 
I pierced a circle around the edge of the circle piece - for a little added texture.  I also used a pop dod to po up the flower layer.

Today's Sketch - back on track?

Ya that is the question I have been asking myself like every day it seems - will I be able to get back on track this week?  Well I am gonna try my darndest!  Since TAC is having their Card a day in the Month of May right now on the TAC Savvy Projects blog featuring my sketch I am going to feature this weeks sketch here too!  Here is My original sketch post with a card I did 2 1/2 years ago!  Wow it has been feeling like a time warp I think!  Be sure to check out the first day for this sketch - featuring Laurie Unger as the guest designer.

I will do my card up today - I PROMISE!  I can actually see some counter top in my studio - and I got some cards and things made up over the weekend (including my graduates thank you notes!)   I am also planning to do the 3-4 back sketches that I have not had a chance to play with yet. 

I can see light at  the end of my tunnel of craziness.  My oldest is graduating on Saturday - so we have the party yet coming up and the actual event - including my mom and sister visiting from Ohio for a week.  I am SO excited for them to come - and have been getting the house things I have been slack ing on recently.  My studio is included in that - and like I said I can see some counter top and have gone thru a teensy weensy smidge of the bottomless pit of stuff I need to go thru.  All in good time!

I am off and running to get my list checked off - so hopefully I will post again tomorrow!
