I made this card a few weeks agao when I had that card making spree on a sunday - I made some super cute cards that day if I do say so myself! This one I have been hanging onto because I LOVE it so much! I CASED it from somewhere but of course I waited so long now I can't remember from where! So if this card looks familiar - please let me know so I can link to you! I was on a dictionary page kick for awhile - ok so I am not over it! I still have lots of pages left - and just got some yummy sheet music too (thanks Helen!) Anyway - here is the card...
I know I know - it is the bomdigity huh!?!? LOL! Here is an upclose...
The flowers are embossed in white on black cardstock - then I freehand cut the stems and leaves out of the green Sands of Time pattern paper. I stamped one of the Victorian Elements onto a dictionary page with Noir Palette ink and inked the edges for an aged toile look. I added the strip of Bazzill Border jumbo scallop to the bottom edge - LOVE that stuff so much I cannot bring myself to use it very often - KWIM?? It is an illness...
Did someone say Blog Candy?? Yes I did say Blog Candy! I was just curious and wanted to get as many opinions as possible - so I thought I would bribe you all! I have TONS of extra rubber - NEW stamp sets from the past and present - that I will pack up into grab bags - one for every 25 comments. So to increase the odds be sure to tell your friends to come on over and let me know what they think. k?
So the question is: Which do you prefer - When looking at projects on a blog we all want to know what they used right? Well would you prefer to have the items used on a card in a nice tidy little blurb - or scattered thru a paragraph with directions? So like I did above (scattered through the paragraph) R like this tidy little blurb below:

I usually do the tidy little blurb and I am just wondering if that is how my blog readers like it or not. Not saying I am gonna change anything - but just curious! SO leave a comment - and tell me "Tidy little blurb" OR "Scattered in paragraph" I will leave this one open for a whole week - so be sure to send everyone over and get your comments in so you might wim some fabulous new rubber!

Scattered in paragraph (works for me because I live in chaos)

Nice card. Actually I like both. I like to read how it was done but it is nice to have it all together. How is that for wishy-washy.

Scattered in a paragraph cause you type just like you would say it and it "feels good". Only you Heather would come up with cutting your own stems and leaves and have it come out so darn cute. LOVE IT!!!

"Scattered" is so cool because it gives me a warm fuzzy - like being right there with you as you explain tips and even the oopsies! But I like the "tiny little blurb" for a quick ref! Does this count as "2" votes? LOL

I always read your blog, and I never mind that it is scattered in a paragraph. I can always print out the directions and underline the steps if I'm going to literally follow every step. I love, love, love the card!

Well that's hard since I like them both for different reasons. I like the scattered cause it's like you are talking directly to me. I do my blog that way. HOWEVER, when I'm in a hurry or wanting to CASE something (after the fact...you know like many days after you actually posted) then i like the Tiny little blurb as I can find everything easier. KWIM?

I honestly don't care either way, as long as the information is there somewhere! Cute card!!
Posted by: Angela Kelley | September 24, 2010 at 03:19 PM
I like both, but if I had to choose just one it would be the blurb at the bottom. Just the facts, m'am. ;-)
Posted by: Lisa T | September 24, 2010 at 05:00 PM
I don't mind both either, but the blurb at the bottom is nice cause it's all in one spot and looks nice.

Hello Heather!...I've been visting your site for awhile now - because I basically love your stuff! I appreciate the "tiddy little blurbs" - I have kids - I only get so much time to read! :o) LOL!

I like the tidy little blurb but with directions in the post. Sometimes I am not sure if things are embossed, for example, so I like to know those details too!

So cute card. I like the blurb if it is a fairly simple card. But sometimes a little more explanation is needed. Guess you are not getting much of a consensus here. So just do what feels right for you!!

Heather - I like it both ways. I like to read the info while I look at your cards. Then I like it at the bottom for quick reference. I know this doesn't help with a decision for you.

Tidy little blurb please ( but I want chat too ! ) That way, if i need to access the info quick, I can find it easier !
Posted by: Margaret C | September 26, 2010 at 02:27 AM
I like the scattered and that's what I do as well
Posted by: Chelsea Comer | September 26, 2010 at 05:21 AM
I like both! If I'm in a hurry, and I want to run back and see how you made those fabulous leaves, it's easier to have them at the bottom, all neat and tiny. If I'm just reading your blog, it's fun to read more in detail, and like the readers above say, it's more personal. So....either or!!! Great card, Heather!

I love these handcut stems and leaves! It's so nice to see a technique that I can do myself without having to go buy a new gadget that I can't afford and don't have access to. Thank you! I don't have a preference about the materials used really, I just like it when it's included. If I have to pick one I say a blurb at the end.

I love the card! But I like having it both ways...IF I am getting ready to make the card away from home it's easy to look at the list of things I need. But if I'm at home, I don't mind reading to find what I need.
Posted by: Dawn | September 26, 2010 at 01:18 PM
Actually I dont have a preference as long as the information is included. I do love that card - beautiful!

Hi Heather,
Lovely card, I always like your style and creations.
I prefer "Tidy little blurb". I love reading your post, but when I check materials I like to see them altogether.
Thanks for the chance to win.

Scattered in a paragraph is my preference. It just feels more like a conversation that way, and less like a sales pitch. I also like it when bloggers 'fess up to mistakes that they made and how they corrected it and still used the "damaged" piece in the card. Your blog is always a favorite of mine!
Posted by: StampJourney | September 27, 2010 at 05:57 PM
I like the deets to be scattered in the paragraph form but also a list at the end. LOL! I'm no help. I suppose if I HAD to chose I'd pick list at the end of the blog post. Great card!

I prefer the scattered in the paragraph that makes it easier ti know what was used where.
Thanks for the change for candy.

Such a cute and unique card- bold contrasts. I like tidy little blurb.

If I had to choose just one, I would say scattered through as it feels more like I'm there and part of it. However, it's actually great to have both - once scattered through as it helps get an insight into and and an understanding of the process, and then again at the end, as a summary or reference.
