Sketch 97 - I took a little break!

Boy I needed that break!  I feel refreshed and ready to get some studio time in again.  I actually barely even checked my e-mail over the last week - and in fact I was avoiding my studio all together.  No ink and been opened, stamp touched or paper folded in the last week around here.  Every so often I need a break like that I guess.  But now back to our regularly scheduled programming!

The sketch for this week is inspired by a card I saw on another blog - and I will reveal it and my card tomorrow!  I don't want to influence YOUR take on my sketch you know!  If you do give it a shot be sure to leave a linky and link back to HERE soyour readers can see what everyone else was up to also!

So like I said - I am jumping back into the studio today - which will first require a bunch of clean up!  I got most of my past projects finished up but have not had a chance to put the tools and materials away yet.  I actually may have my Christmas cards DONE!  Not sure - will have to do a count soon - but I am pretty sure that through the past 5 months Christmas Card Buffets that I held I have made up all the left overs and may be done!   Now to get the ellusive Christmas picture and we will be all set!  I meant to do that over the weekend - but I guess I was too busy relaxing and NOT thinking about making cards or studio projects!  :-)

Watercolor and Shimmer CS video

Ugh - where did the week go?  Here is my card for last weeks sketch - plus a little bonus video!

I used watercolor pencils to color my pumpkin - so I made a little video to show you how with some tips!  I also used my Dazzle pad to make the whole image shimmer - it looks so cool but is really difficult to see in a photo.

Monday Card Sketch #96

So it is a happy Monday around here -it is snowing!  :-)  And actually my event for tonight is canceled because if it - bummer!  I have a long list of to-do's for the day - and starting off the list is the card sketch!  If you give it a whirl be sure to link to here and leave alinky so we can all check out your creation!

I am feeling the fall spirit - and was SHOCKED to realize this morning when trying to re-schedule tonights event that next week is Thanksgiving!   Good gracious where are the days going?  Germany?  LOL!   Anyway - I am going to use some fall inspired pieces for my sketch card - and may even get it posted tomorrow!  Tomorrow is my hubby's 40th B-day so I should be making cake and all that fun stuff right?  He has not been cooperating on telling me what he wants - but I do know yellow cake with fudy frosting!  Hopefully we can make him a special day.

Well I am off to play!  Hope you get a chacne to get inky and crafty today too!

I used different thickness of pop dots on the trees to add more depth - and I just love the sarkly trees!  That embossing powder really looks cool with different colors of ink below.

 

I am still in love with Willoughby... it is my FAV of our papers still!

I am dedicating my afternoon to making some jewely - and hopefully posting more to my etsy shop!  Now that I am caught up in Blog-a-ritaville with my stamping that is!

I love the look of Crystal Lacquer and the glossy polished look it gives the cirlcle on this card.  I added a layer behind the 1x 3 1/2 strips too - just to make it pop a little more.  I also inked the edges of all the Angalee pieces with a sponge and the Burnt Umber ink to make them look more finished also.

I could not force myself to do my card sketches today - because I wanted to share this ornament first!

They are so much fun - and will make a great gift or even a package ornament - to dress it up and be a gift too.  The stamp I used is theNovember Stamp of the month - so it is only available during november with a $30 purchase. 

Monday sketch #95

What a week I had last week - pack to overflowing I tell ya!  I hope to be able to do a card for this weeks and last weeks sketch - so stay tuned!  Here is this weeks sketch - can you guess what I am going to use for my three elements???  :-)

So on the agenda this week - catch up!  I have Christmas cards from my weekend Christmas Card camp to complete for my own personal cards.  Plus I want to work on some video stuff I have been itching to get too!  I got a new Flip Camera and am looking forward to the EASE of it!  Hopefully it will allow me to post videos more often.  We shall see eh? 

There are some super duper cutie patootie Christmas stamps coming out soon - especially for those of you who like to make lots of treats for gifts for the holidays.   So be watching for thos in addition to hese great November Specials!

It was a crazy busy weekend - the kids had a Sock Hop at school on Friday, I had a craft show all day Saturday and then Trick or Treating of course!   I just played with my pics a bit and made a few Collages in Picassa  - I SO want to scrap them NOW!  But I can't because I have a HUGE To do list!
