I wanted to share one of my Christmas Cards from the weekends Christmas Card Stack - 5 different Christmas cards using the Bazzill Monochromatic Purples.  It was a challenge - more from the stamp perspective of which to use - but fun!

I wanted to try out our new VersaMark Dazzle pads - so I reached for Frost.  It is the cool version while Champagne is more of a warm tone to it.    They look great on dark to medium tone cardstock and the purples were perfect!  You can't see the shimmer in these pics - but they are fabulous.  For the snowflake in the square I stamped onto white and it was not visible enough - so I reached for my chalks and tapped a little purple chalk from the Jewel tone chalk set and it popped the image right up!    Nice to know the dazzle pads work for chalk popping too.

The kids are outside playing - it is SO nice outside and I am having to force them out - pitiful!

Big bow card - for monday sketch

I am on a roll - I even got to the sketch card!  (Did you check out the Christmas Planner post and video last night???)

I was inspired by a specific card from a magazine for this sketch - When I drew up the sketch I altered it a  bit to suit my design and I went a little crazy with the scissors.  The scallops I used cloud scissors to cut - but the scroll edge I cut free hand.  Be sure to leave a linky and link back here if you try out the sketch!

We have swimming lessons this morning - fun stuff!  This evening I have a creative escape with my peeps in JC.  Even more fun stuff!   I have a bunch if jewelry to shoot and put in my Button Bling Things etsy shop today too.  (it is empty right now - but should be getting some stuff added today!)

I cannot beleive that July is almost over!  One of the Moms yesterday at swimming lessons said "Only 27 days til school starts!"  Oh my!  The countdown has begun!  It is crazy how busy you can be even when you do not work a traditional job outside the house.  I cannot even imagine if I have a JOB too!  I dunno though maybe one JOB would be less work than the 10 I do at home!  LOL!  How lucky am I to be able to call stamping and playing in my studio while on the phone for hours witha few of  my favorite people WORKING?!??!

Speaking of working - did you see the August and September hostess specials?!?!?  If you have been thinking about having a party NOW is the time to get it booked.  All my august weekends are already booked - but I do have a few weeknights available.  And you can always do a "Book party" instead and reap DOUBLE benefits!

Christmas Planner Tutorial - free downloads!

This is a great planner - with room to grow because there are a few empty pockets.  You can leave them out or keep them in for extra space if you want.

I printed mine onto ivory cardstock and used Ivory envelopes - but you can use whatever works for your color scheme.   I was inspired by the pages at Organized Christmas - but I wanted more color to the pages so I made my own in Publisher.  (I goofed and left out this info and link in my original posting - thanks for the inspiration!) 

You will need:

Materials:

4 ¼ x 10 Card Stock – 8 pieces

Additional pattern and plain cardstock to embellish.

9 #10 envelopes (4 1/8 x 9 ½)

Printed and trimmed insert pages

Trasnparency /Acetate– 8 ½ x 11 – 2 sheets

2 Jumbo Eyelets

2 6” pieces  1 ½ “ Bind it All wires

Ribbon to tie closed and embellish spine

Adhesive

Tools:

12” paper trimmer

Scissors

Bind It All

Big Bite Cropadile

Stamps and inks of choice

I reverted back to my ole faithful camera for that video - hopefully I can use the new one for any futer videos as that one was a pain and I do not think does as good quality!

Monday Sketch 80, Christmas Planner and BLOG CANDY!

Wow 80 sketches!    How OZ-some is that?   I have had so much fun with these sketches over the last 2 years - especially seeing what you all do with them!  Join the fun and post a linky to your card so we can all see - and link back to here too! 

I am gonna have me some fun with the pattern paper on this one - and the strip or ribbon is gonna be BIG!  (you know you wanna do this one Laurie- i just love your big bows!)

This weekends Christmas in July class was SO much fun!  I did a series of purple Christmas cards for the card stack using the Bazzill Purples.  It was a challenge but they turned out great!  The Christmas Planner was a huge hit!  I sold out of kits but may do up a few more.  In fact I was considering offering it as a class at the next Crop-a-ganza event (that is IF they can still squeeze me in as a vendor!!!)   The keychain was my FAVORITE project though.  A little guardian angel watching over you.  I will share pictures of everything soon - here is a sneak peak of the cover of the planner:

My first video....

Ok are you ready?  I know I have been waiting to do this for a long time - and I have created my very first video! Actually this is about version 5 or 6 of my first video - but I have learned ALOT already!!!  You might have seen that I uploaded one last night and then it was gone.  Well I got it all done and was proud as can be - but when I previewed it on my blog it looked like DOO DOO!!!  So I took it down and figured I would try again this morning. After about 4 more attempts and 6 different versions I think I finally figured it out! Let me know what you think!

The plan is to make a coloring tutorial as often as possible (I am not sayin' everyweek because I know how busy I can get and every week is a pretty steep commitment!)  I will use a different image and sometimes different mediums to color with like watercolor crayons, chalks, blender pen and chalks etc.

I have been working on a coloring video this morning - and it has not been going very well! I am determined to get to making videos!! I have colored about 5 cows - and ended up with out of focus video!  LOL!   I might have to run out and buy a little video recorder - anyone have suggestions for a good one?

I colored the cow with plain ole colored pencils  - and wanted to share my technique for coloring with pencils.  It is pretty simple and yields great results.  It does take a little practice!

Monday sketch - play with me!

Another Monday another sketch!  The sketch for this week is one of my old standby's - I fall back to it again and again and it is easy to add little flairs here and there to change it up.  Give it a try and leave a linky here and link back to here on yours if you do so everyone can check out all the creations and be inspired!

I am actually hoping (well I really HAVE to get to it) to get to PLAY with all my new stuff this week!!!  Vacation and seminar and everything else crazy that has been going on has kept me out of the studio.  Today it is cloudy and I hear thunder so maybe I can get some good time in.

This Saturday is a Creative Escape in Combo with  Christmas in July Workshop.  The Creative escape/crop will run from 10AM to 10PM - and yes I may be able to be convinced to stay later Seleise!   We will see how the Mojo is flowin'!  This is how it will work:

Come and crop and create from 10Am to 10PM - FREE of charge, bring your own supplies and a snack to share.

Sign up for different mini stamp camps thru the day.  The following classes will be offered:

Ok, so ya I really wanted to post this yesterday - but I kind of couldn't even find my studio table!  I had to take the afternoon to clean up and put away about 15 past projects worth of stuff that had accumulated on my desk just so I could stamp let alone find space to take a picture!  So all is put away - on my table atleast!  My desk - not so much.  Floor, not so much!  I will get to it though
before it all dissappears right???

So on this card I used a TAC-nique that I am teaching tonight at my thursday night TAC-nique class.  I call it Layered Color Stamped Collage.  It is pretty simple - but packs a nice punch!  I also did a little trick with three Bitty Blooms - there are three of them folded in half on there - I stapled them in a triangle on a 1/2 circle of cardstock - to make a bigger fluffier flower.  It looks like this after it is stapled:
  
Then I just layered a 1/2 in circle over top in the middle to cover the staples.  It is kind of tricky to get it stapled - so watch your fingers!

Monday Sketch - real quick!

So the return to Kansas did not go as I planned - it took a whole extra day than I was expecting!  (but it was exactly how my DH planned go figure!)  SO I am back now and hopefully able to get back on track with my studio and blogging. 

So here is this weeks sketch - I will post my card either today or tomorrow - depending on how the laundry and unpacking go!
